Description

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

ACTS 2:46-47

In 2003, thirteen indigenous Huichol families were expelled from Jalisco, Mexico, because of their faith. Despite this hardship, God provided a new land where they could build a new life together as a community of believers. As servants of Christ who desire to share their blessings, they dream of building a community kitchen where families come together to prepare meals, and where they can serve food to other visitors such as transient Huichol people, short-term teams, and provide a place for hosting large group gatherings.

Haimatsie, Mexico, is a nearby Huichol community that this community of believers also ministers to. Having adequate sized pots and pans would help them to prepare large amounts of food. It would also be a blessing to have a sufficient number of plates, cups, and cutlery for the 45 children they are regularly feeding.

Prayer

Pray for God’s continued provision and abundant blessings upon these indigenous people as they care for the needs of others. Pray that God would continue to draw other Huichol to this Christian community to experience hope and healing through His transformative love.
