Behold, upon the mountains, the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace!
According to the United Nations1 (UN), as of January 2019 there were still 6.7 million people in need of humanitarian assistance in Iraq. While radical factions have “officially” been defeated, the effects of their actions are still
being felt. The Kurdistan Region of Iraq is still home to more than 1.2 million IDPs (internally displaced persons) and of those, 71% live outside of the UN camps. The need for food, water, health care, sanitation, and livelihood
provide many opportunities to demonstrate the love of Jesus. Working in conjunction with a national C&MA church, the Loving Iraq fund provides short term relief while focusing on development opportunities among the Yazidi, Kurds, and Christians in the area.
Pray that those who have fled terror2 may find safety, employment, and hope for the future. Ask that they will find the ultimate hope that Christ provides.
