According to the United Nations1 (UN), as of January 2019 there were still 6.7 million people in need of humanitarian assistance in Iraq. While radical factions have “officially” been defeated, the effects of their actions are still being felt. The Kurdistan Region of Iraq is still home to more than 1.2 million IDPs (internally displaced persons) and of those, 71% live outside of the UN camps.
