Niger Vocational Training – Hot Lunch for a Month
Suggested Price: $40.00
Niger is one of the poorest countries in the world with limited financial and food resources, especially during seasons of drought and poor harvests. Your gift of $40 to this fund will provide a month of meals for one student. We are committed to providing one hot meal a day for the girls in this program so that they will flourish in their physical growth, mental alertness and overall health. Feed a girl and nourish her future.
I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor will I satisfy with food.
any know the famous story in Mark 8 where Jesus fed the 4000. Many of us recall the miraculous part of the story, but miss the lesson hidden in the miracle. The same Jesus who had taught that man shall not live by bread alone, showed us we cannot ignore peoples’ physical needs. Jesus declared “I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way”, then proceeded to feed them. Jesus’ actions show us that to effectively model Christ’s love and care for individuals, we must also be willing to meet their tangible needs.
Marginalized people of Niger face many uphill battles against poverty, child marriage, lack of education, and, livelihood skills. Young women are empowered for a better future as they participate in the equipping and mentoring programs offered through the Niger Vocational Training Centre.
Pray that God will speak deeply into the lives of these young women as they are mentored, and taught Bible stories and life skills.
