For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.

Matthew 25:35

Acts 4:32-36 describes a beautiful scene following a powerful filling of the Spirit. It says subsequently, no one claimed any possession as their own. Joseph and others sold their land and possessions and laid the money at the disciples’ feet who in turn redistributed it to anyone in need. The text then   goes on to tell us that as a result, “there were no needy persons among them.” This was and still is the mandate of the church to extend God’s grace in tangible ways.

A country* in the Arabian Peninsula is facing one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world because of a proxy war. Its families have had difficulty accessing clean water, food, and, education. Lack of clean water has been a contributing factor to 1 million cases of cholera by the end of 2017. Thousands of schools have been closed due to the conflict, many families are displaced, and, over 50% of the population does not have access to proper food and nutrition.

*Country name has been withheld to protect the safety of International Workers (IWs), and the people they work with.

Pray for a significant increase in access to sustainable sources of clean water. Pray for the end to the conflict that is causing families to be displaced and ultimately, for the healing of this nation.
