Contributions to this fund will enable rural Peruvians to grow in faith and self-esteem as they become literate. The program also includes a 3-day course where 10-15 literacy teachers are equipped to teach others.
Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.
In Romans 15:4, the apostle Paul taught how significant the Word of God is to instruct us so that through endurance and encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. When mentoring Timothy, Paul impressed on him that scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, correcting, restoring and training in right living (2 Timothy 3:16.)
The Quechua are a people group living in the Andes Mountains of Peru. Quechua women are being empowered as they are learning to read; giving them hope, vision, and tools that are enabling them to impact their families, churches, and, communities. With richer spiritual lives through education, learning to read God’s Word opens a whole new world to them. The Bible
in Quechua language is the primary teaching tool for a literacy program taught by trained indigenous women. The initiative also trains pastors from Quechua-speaking churches and provides Bibles and other spiritual resources for their ministry.
Pray that as women are impacted through this training, their social and spiritual transformation will influence others in these remote villages in the Andes
